Create a Project
Field-by-field guide to creating a clean, accurate project record.
Step-by-step
- Go to Dashboard -> Projects.
- Click Create project.
- Complete each field (definitions below).
- Click Create project to save.
Field definitions
Project name
Use a consistent format so you can find it later. Example:
- "Smith - 1200 sqft driveway"
- "Wells Fargo - parking lot overlay"
Customer
- Customer name: The person or company paying the invoice.
- Customer email: Required to send proposals.
- Customer phone: Helpful for scheduling.
Site address
Use the job site address, not billing address. This helps with map measurement and future routing.
Project type
Choose the closest match:
- New asphalt
- Overlay
- Sealcoat
- Patching
This choice affects default assumptions in the estimate builder.
Site conditions
Check anything that changes effort or cost:
- Existing surface needs removal.
- Drainage issues.
- Tight access.
- Heavy equipment required.
If you are not sure, check the box anyway and leave a note. You can remove later.
Notes
Add any critical context, such as:
- Customer wants work done after hours.
- Access through a locked gate.
- Existing base is cracked.
- Utilities nearby.
After the project is created
Immediately add measurements. The fastest path to an accurate estimate is:
Project -> Measurements -> Estimate Builder -> Save.
