Field-by-field guide to creating a clean, accurate project record.

  2. Click Create project.
  3. Complete each field (definitions below).
  4. Click Create project to save.

Field definitions

Project name

Use a consistent format so you can find it later. Example:

  • "Smith - 1200 sqft driveway"
  • "Wells Fargo - parking lot overlay"

Customer

  • Customer name: The person or company paying the invoice.
  • Customer email: Required to send proposals.
  • Customer phone: Helpful for scheduling.

Site address

Use the job site address, not billing address. This helps with map measurement and future routing.

Project type

Choose the closest match:

  • New asphalt
  • Overlay
  • Sealcoat
  • Patching

This choice affects default assumptions in the estimate builder.

Site conditions

Check anything that changes effort or cost:

  • Existing surface needs removal.
  • Drainage issues.
  • Tight access.
  • Heavy equipment required.

If you are not sure, check the box anyway and leave a note. You can remove later.

Notes

Add any critical context, such as:

  • Customer wants work done after hours.
  • Access through a locked gate.
  • Existing base is cracked.
  • Utilities nearby.

After the project is created

Immediately add measurements. The fastest path to an accurate estimate is:

Project -> Measurements -> Estimate Builder -> Save.
