Map Measurement Workspace (IQ)
Draw the asphalt area on a satellite map, save it to the project, and continue your estimate.
When to use it
Use map measurement when you cannot measure on site, or when you want a fast aerial measurement to get a quote out quickly.
Open the workspace
- In Dashboard -> Assistant, ask to measure on the map.
- IQ will open a map measurement workspace for the project.
Example prompts:
- "Open the map so I can draw the driveway."
- "Let me measure this on the map."
- "Measure the asphalt area for this project."
Draw the area
- The map opens in polygon draw mode.
- Click around the perimeter of the asphalt area to add points.
- Finish the shape by clicking the first point to close the polygon.
- Use the trash icon to delete a polygon.
- You can draw more than one polygon if needed.
As you draw, SurfaceIQ shows:
- Total area (sqft)
- Perimeter (ft)
Save the measurement
- Click Save.
- You should see a "Measurement saved" message.
If you edit the shape after saving, click Save again to save the updated measurement.
Continue the estimate in IQ
- Click Use for estimate.
- You will return to IQ and it will use the latest saved measurement for the project.
Troubleshooting
- Save button is disabled: draw at least one polygon first.
- The map will not load: your SurfaceIQ admin needs to configure map access.
- The map does not center on the job: make sure the project has a complete site address.
